How many years is Jiazi?
The reason why Jiazi is 60 years instead of 120 years is that the ten-day stem and the twelve-day branch are matched in sequence. From Jiazi to Guihai, a total of 60 combinations are called Sixty Jiazi.
Heavenly stems and earthly branches is collocated in order, that is, A, B, C, D, E, Ji, G, Xin, Ren, Gui, Zi, Ugly, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu and Hai. From A to Hai, it is also called "A". Because there are six groups that begin with the word "A", it is also called "Liu Jia".
60-year-old Jiazi is an ancient invention of China people, also known as 60-year-old Jiazi. Its oldest uses are calendar year, calendar month, calendar day and calendar time. Calendar year is a 60-year cycle, calendar month is a 5-year cycle, calendar day is a 60-day cycle, and calendar time is a 5-day cycle.
Sixty Jiazi also refers to the sixty stars gods in Taoist belief, that is, sixty immortals on duty every day. Call these gods by heavenly stems and earthly branches's matching names.
Origin history:
It is said that the inventor of heavenly stems and earthly branches was a troublemaker in the ancient Xuanyuan period four or five thousand years ago. Archaeological findings show that in the late Shang Dynasty, Di Yi (the 30th king of Shang Dynasty) carved 60 complete jiazi on an Oracle bone, which may be the calendar at that time. This also shows that in the Shang Dynasty, the chronology of cadres and branches was already used.
According to textual research, there was a solar eclipse in Lu Yingong during the Spring and Autumn Period (February 10 BC). This is the exact evidence of China's use of Ganzhi Chronology, which was the first year of the Emperor's reign.
Year, month and day are all 60 cycles. 60 is a wonderful number in the field of time. Not only did the ancient Han people in China take 60 as the cycle, but in the western time-keeping method, one minute is 60 seconds and one hour is 60 minutes.
Just a coincidence? Similarly, a 24-hour day in China corresponds to a traditional 65,438+02 hours a day (one hour is a big hour and two hours is a big hour). China takes five days as a one-hour cycle, the so-called "five-day waiting", which is 60 hours in total.
