Macau is located on the southeast coast of mainland China, on the west bank of the Pearl River estuary, and is separated from Hong Kong and Guangzhou on the outer edge of the Pearl River Delta. Lingdingyang is adjacent to Hong Kong in the east and Wanzai Town, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province in the west, separated by a Haojiang waterway less than 1 km wide. In the north, it is connected with Gongbei, Zhuhai by ancient sand dike, and the land boundary is only 240 meters. The south is close to the vast South China Sea. Macau, located at the relay point of Southeast Asian routes, is an important port for East-West trade in 16 and 17 centuries. Walking along the Xijiang River to the northwest, you can reach Zhaoqing, Guangdong, Wuzhou, Guangxi and other places, with rich products and prosperous economy along the way. Such a superior geographical position plays a very important role in the economic development of itself and its surrounding areas. Macao covers an area of 23.5 square kilometers, including Macao Peninsula (Sheung Shui B) and two outlying islands, namely Tsai and Luhuan. Macao Peninsula covers an area of 7.65 square kilometers, while Tsai Island and Green Island (Sheung Shui B) are 5.69 square kilometers and 8.07 square kilometers respectively. Most people live in the Macao Peninsula, with a population density of 2,500 people/square kilometer, which is super dense.
