What does Peng Zu mean in the Yellow Calendar?

Peng Zu was a Taoist pioneer in the pre-Qin period in China. It is said that he was quiet since he was a child. When he grew up, he did not look for a job, nor did he covet a job, but devoted himself to health and self-cultivation. Peng Zu's works have been handed down to later generations, the most famous of which is The Classic of Peng Zu, which is regarded as the first book of health preservation in China, and of course, Bo Gu in Peng Zu. Today's auspicious day will explain the meaning of Peng Zuji: "Geng is not meridian, loom is empty."

In Gregorian terms, the explanation of "meridian" is safety machine, weaving, silkworm harvesting, safety spinning wheel and machine; The so-called "Geng has no meridians, and the loom is empty" means that you should not weave or spin on Geng Day.

Geng is the master of the White Tiger, and Geng Ri and Geng Shi are the masters of the White Tiger Heaven. White tiger is in charge of roads, information, military affairs, fighting, personnel mobility, authoritarianism, money, dogs and horses. On this day, if you spin and weave, it means weaving a tight encirclement for yourself, and it is also suspected of hindering the use of things in heaven. It is said that people can't fight against heaven, let alone heaven, so the ancients have this emphasis.

What does "three Geng" mean?

In ancient China, time was recorded through the combination of heavenly stems and earthly branches. The number of heavenly stems is 10, which is A, B, C, D, E, Ji, G, Xin, Ren and Gui, and the number of earthly branches is 12, which is Zi, Ugly, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You and Xi. Heavenly stems and earthly branches, you will get Jia Zi, Yi Chou, Bing Yin, Ding Mao and so on. And cross-match 60 times, so it is called 60 jiazi.

Because the number of heavenly stems is 10, there is a Geng Day every 10 day, such as Geng Zi Day, Geng Yin Day and Chen Geng Day. In our country, people make meteorological laws. From the summer solstice, there are three characters "Geng", and the third Geng day is the first time. This is what the so-called "three Geng" means. In "Youxue Qionglin", it is also said: "The first time is the third Geng in the summer."

And because a year is 365 days (leap year is 366 days), not an integer multiple of 10, so one day of this year's Geng Day is not necessarily the Geng Day of next year. Due to the uncertainty of Geng Day, the date of entry is different every year.
