Despite the obstruction, Zhang Ci personally opened the gate and put all the people at the gate into the city, saving a large number of people. Zhang Ci died while in office, and the local people came not far from Wan Li to see him off. Later generations felt their merits and built temples and shrines, which were regarded as one of the traditional star gods.
