A TV series named after a sentence in an ancient poem.

One River Flows East is a TV series jointly produced by Shanghai Film Group Corporation, China International Television Corporation and Zhejiang Satellite TV. The film is adapted from the film of the same name in the 1940s, directed by and starring Hu Jun, Chen and others.

The play tells the story of the emotional entanglement between a man and several women in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Su Fen, a female worker in a cotton mill in Shanghai, died in Huangpu River because of her husband's unfaithfulness. It premiered on Guangdong Zhujiang Channel on April 27th, 2005.
