Gregorian calendar and auspicious choice;
The traditional art of mate selection in China was quite mature as early as the Qin and Han Dynasties. At that time, the contents that should be avoided when waiting time was recorded in Japanese books involved not only daily activities such as marriage and travel, but also military events such as attacking and sending troops.
In addition to calculating calendars and observing astronomical phenomena, the official astronomical institutions of past dynasties were also responsible for the selection. For example, in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Tianguan's duties included: "When the country offers sacrifices, funerals and weddings, it should play the taboos of auspicious days and festivals in time." Later, in the official astronomical institutions, a department appeared to be responsible for this kind of thing, which was called the three-type department in the Song and Yuan Dynasties.
In the Qing dynasty, it was called the missing division. In the early Qing Dynasty, its duties were: "to look at the buildings inside and outside the palace, to see the mountains and rivers, to promote marriage, to choose auspicious days, to adjust the leakage of pots, to manage the entrance to the building, to wait in the suburbs, and to set up the direction of special schools." Although it is more complicated than the Eastern Han Dynasty, in fact, there is little difference between the two in more than a thousand years.
