None of the four place names in the German national anthem is in Germany?
Characteristics of German National Anthem
This famous "Song of Germany" was written during the revolution of the German National Assembly, and the poet hoped that the German states could be unified. 1922, this song was recognized as the national anthem of Germany by Weimar Republic. It was German soldiers who sang this song and swept across Western Europe and fought the last battle in the Soviet Union.
This lyric is actually the first part of Song of Germany and the essence of the whole poem. The four place names mentioned in the poem, Mas, Moore, Esch and Bert, are four rivers bordering Germany and other countries, and their status in the minds of Germans is equivalent to that of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River in China.
But now, these four rivers are not under the control of Germany. This poem was also criticized as a failed German nationalism and had to be deleted. The German national anthem is actually the first part of the German song.
