Magnolia Square in Baoshan District Square

Baoshan is an important steel, port and electric power industrial base in Shanghai. Baoshan area has developed rapidly, with a permanent population of 830,000. In order to let residents have elegant leisure places, Baoshan District Committee and District Government decided to build large-scale open landscape green spaces and leisure squares in the prime location of Songbao Central City. 1The Magnolia Square, which broke ground in March, 1999, was completed in only 10 months, and the project quality is excellent. The underground civil defense project was rated as "high-quality structure and high-quality project" by Shanghai Civil Defense Quality Supervision Station, and was recommended as "Civil Defense Cup" and "Baoshan Cup" project in Shanghai.

Introduction: With a total area of 1.75 million square meters, Magnolia Square has gathered more than 20 species of Magnoliaceae plants, making it an ornamental garden with complete varieties of Magnolia plants in Shanghai.

The ground of Magnolia Square consists of Sunshine Square, Greening Square and Magnolia viewing area. Stepping into Sunshine Square, an 8.8-meter-high steel sculpture of "Magnolia Core" first came into view. This steel sculpture is made of high-quality stainless steel produced by Baosteel. The steel sculpture is in the shape of magnolia in full bloom, with four petals extending upward. The "flower core" supported by it is a steel ball with a diameter of 1.8 m, and the main body is "V", which symbolizes opening and victory. Lush grass, tulips, hyacinthus orientalis, cyclamen and other flowers compete for beauty, and a large magnolia-shaped demoulding pavilion stands in the center of Luyin Square for tourists to drink tea and take a nap. More than 20 species and more than 400 magnolia plants have taken root in the Mulan viewing area, including Magnolia officinalis, Magnolia grandiflora, Magnolia purpurea and Magnolia grandiflora in the Second Bridge, as well as rare Huang Yulan and Magnolia grandiflora, which constitute the viewing garden of magnolia plants. There are more than 30 floor speakers scattered around the square, playing music regularly, so that people can relax, walk and exercise in beautiful melodies. The underground of Magnolia Square is a six-level civil air defense project of single building, which can park large and small vehicles 100 at ordinary times.
