What is the meaning of Suzaku? . . .

Suzaku is one of the four spirits in ancient China mythology, which originated from the worship of ancient stars. On behalf of Emperor Yan and the Seven Nights in the South, it is the God of the South. It is separated from the gossip, igniting the fire in the five elements, symbolizing Lao Yang in the four elephants, summer in the four seasons and the south of heaven.

In Chapter 12 of Zhou Li, it is strictly stipulated that only the emperor can use one of the three patterns of sun, moon and stars, while the princes can use the mountains and dragons in the other nine chapters.

In the pre-Qin period, people thought it could lead the souls of the dead to heaven, and later generations thought it could make people live longer. The divination theory flourished in Han dynasty, and its symbolic significance increased, such as reservation, ding bing and ceremony. After the Han Dynasty, Taoism absorbed it as the protector and called it god of light. People think that Qinglong, Baihu, Suzaku and Xuanwu have jointly created the world, and they are the masters of heaven and earth, maintaining Gankun. However, there are also records that the gas of Suzaku rose to the sky, the quality of Suzaku fell to the ground, and Suzaku created the world alone.

Extended data:

"Shi Xing Jing" says "Nangong, its fine Zhu bird, and Si Nanyue". There is a big white marble banner under the eaves of the big stone archway at the entrance of Hengshan Scenic Area in Nanyue. The figure on the forehead is very strange, and many people are confused. In fact, this is the emblem of Nanyue Mountain in the shape of Suzaku.

The origin of the confusion between the images of Suzaku and Phoenix is that a few Taoist collections match the phoenix bird symbolizing peace with the fire in the south, but both the south and the fire are actually the authority of Suzaku, and Suzaku is not a phoenix. In modern times, some articles on the internet changed the word "phoenix" in the five phoenixes to "suzaku", which led to this mistake.
