What is ugly time?
Twelve o'clock is a time mechanism summarized by the ancient people in China according to the laws of the sun rising and setting in a day, combined with their own work and living habits. It is the same as our current 24-hour system, but the hour represents a wider range of time, and we say the hour time is more accurate.
Twelve o'clock is a unique cultural treasure with a long history, an outstanding contribution of our ancestors to human astronomical calendar, and one of the most splendid cultures in China. Twelve o'clock are Zishi, Ugly, Yin Shi, Shi Mao, Chen Shi, Shi Si, Noon, Weishi, Shenshi, Youshi, Xushi and Shihai. It began in childhood and ended in Shihai.
In ancient China, a day was divided into twelve hours, and each hour was equivalent to two hours today. According to legend, people in ancient China named each time according to the time when animals appeared in the China Zodiac.
Twelve o'clock system was adopted in the Western Zhou Dynasty. In the Han Dynasty, it was named Midnight, Crow, Pingdan, Sunrise, Food Time, Horn, Japan-China, Sundial, Sunset, Dusk and Man's Decision. It is also expressed by the twelve earthly branches, and it is the child time from 23: 00 to 1 at midnight, the ugly time from 1 to 3: 00, and the Yin Shi time from 3: 00 to 5: 00, which are recursive in turn.
