Plants are life, aren't they killing people?

There is a clear definition of killing in Buddhist scriptures. Killing in Buddhism does not include plants.

Perhaps in modern botany, destroying plants can be described as killing life, but Buddhism only refers to the six divisions in the Wheel of Karma as "killing life". The definition of Buddhism differs from that of botany.
