Methods and materials of offering sacrifices to gods and ancestors on the first day of New Year's Day

First: "Resign". On the afternoon of New Year's Eve, men at home, led by their elders (women don't participate), took "three delicacies (pork, fish and eggs)", paper money and firecrackers and went to their ancestors' graves to "resign". Put "three delicacies" in front of the ancestors' graves, then burn paper money, set off firecrackers and pour a glass of white wine in front of the graves. After that, the elders knelt down in turn, and the younger generation kowtowed respectfully with both hands. Then, the elders "report" the production and life of the previous year to their ancestors (good only) and ask them to bless the good weather and good harvest in the coming year. Bless the whole family, old and young, and prosper; Wish the whole family happiness and health.

Second: worship. After dinner (family reunion dinner), there are eight tables in the center of the hall, three bowls of rice, three cups of wine, three sticks of incense and three candles in the incense altar. After burning the paper money, the whole family, regardless of sex (in case of public holidays, women can't attend), queue up in turn according to their generation, and wait until firecrackers start outside the hall.

Third: Happy New Year. After breakfast on the first day of junior high school, the male elders in the family take "three fresh", firecrackers (no paper money) and white wine with them to pay a New Year call to their ancestors and then go to the grave. The ceremony is similar to "resignation", except that no paper money is burned.
