Sichuan Agricultural University, formerly known as Sichuan Tongsheng Agricultural School, was founded in 1906 and is the first agricultural college in Sichuan. 193 1 became Sichuan Provincial Agricultural College, 1935 was merged into National Sichuan University, and 1956 became Sichuan Agricultural College. In October, 2006, Sichuan Agricultural University celebrated its centenary. Up to now, the school has trained 6,543,800 graduates of all levels and types, who have become the backbone of national construction and development. In 2005, the school passed the evaluation of undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education with excellent results.
