Moon phase and corresponding date

Moon phases mainly include new moon, full moon, first quarter moon, second quarter moon, waning moon and convex moon, and they can have corresponding dates respectively.

First, the new moon

When the moon runs between the sun and the earth and the dark hemisphere of the moon faces the earth, it is called the new moon, which is the first day of the lunar month. At this time, people can't see the moon, so it is called the new moon. The new moon is usually called the "new moon".

Second, look at the moon.

Looking at the sun refers to the day when the moon is full in the lunar calendar, that is, the day when the moon is full. According to the characteristics of the lunar calendar, the sun is different every month. In every month of the lunar calendar, watching the sun is usually the fifteenth day of that month.

Third, the first quarter moon

The new moon looks like a perfect semicircle, because when it is a new moon, the line between the sun and the earth is perpendicular to the line between the earth and the moon, and only half of the bright side of the moon can be observed from the earth. The first quarter moon is divided into the first quarter moon and the second quarter moon, which appear around the full moon respectively. The first quarter moon appears on the seventh and eighth days of the lunar calendar.

Fourth, the first quarter moon

The first quarter moon means that the sun, the earth and the moon are in a certain position. The first quarter moon appears on the 22nd and 23rd of the lunar calendar. Because you can only see the semicircle on the east side of the moon, it is called the "lower chord".

Five, the waning moon

The waning moon has no specific date. The waning moon usually lasts from lunar calendar 16 to 23.

Sixth, the convex moon

The convex moon is a shape between the first quarter moon and the second quarter moon and the full moon. The shape of the moon is similar to that of the full moon, but it is slightly less full than the full moon. It appears twice a month, in the first half of the lunar calendar, which is called the convex moon. Because the full moon is coming, it is also called the gradually convex moon. Appearing in the second half of the lunar calendar is called the downward convex moon, also known as the gradually deficient convex moon.
