The short distance that the hook can move is related to the overall accuracy. The thickness of the hook itself is exactly1.5mm, but the actual moving range of the hook is exactly1.5mm.. In this way, whether you hit it with a hook or head, you can ensure the accuracy of the measurement.

When measured from the outside edge, the hook will be pulled out, so the thickness of the hook will not be added to the total. When measured from the inner edge, the hook will press into the tape measure and increase the thickness of 1.5 mm, and keep accurate measurement.
