He was a member of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Minister of Foreign Affairs of People's Republic of China (PRC), Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 11th National People's Congress and President of the China Public Diplomacy Association. Not a descendant of Li Hongzhang.
