What does Luoyang Tianzi mean by driving six?
The emperor's driving six is an act of ancient Chinese ritual system. Emperor-class six-carriage, that is, the famous "Emperor Driving Six". The emperor drives six, and the rest of the auxiliary cars drive four. The case "Book" said that rotten rope was used to conquer six horses. Yi Li's "Wang Du Collection" said: "The emperor drives six, the maharaja drives five, the Qing Dynasty drives four, the doctor three, the scholar two and Shu Ren one." In June, 2002, 65438+ 10, when Luoyang was building the central square of the city, the remains of the chariots and horses in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty were discovered in the archaeological area of10.6 million square meters, and10.8 chariots and horses were excavated successively, one of which was 42 meters long and 7.2 meters wide. Because a relic of six horses driving was cleared from the inside, it confirmed the saying in ancient literature that "the son of heaven drove six horses", which attracted worldwide attention. After extensively soliciting the opinions of cultural relics experts and all walks of life and obtaining the approval of National Cultural Heritage Administration, Luoyang City implemented scientific backfill protection for small and medium-sized Chemakeng in 2003, focusing on properly formulating the protection scheme for the large-scale Chemakeng site of "Emperor A Stream", setting up a special cultural relics protection institution, approving 13 full-time protection personnel, and investing 12 million yuan to build a brand-new site museum, which is unique to the world. The fully-built Museum of Six Drivers of the Emperor is located in the center of Luoyang Wangcheng Square, covering an area of 1.200 square meters, with a sunken structure. There are two main exhibition areas in the museum, namely, Tian Zi Liuche Makeng Exhibition Hall and Zhou Dynasty Fine Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall. Among them, a large-scale video media system has been added to the corner of the Chemakeng exhibition hall, and the fine cultural relics excavated by Zhou Wangcheng are hung on the walls in the corridor, which has a strong display effect. From the end of July 2002 to March 2003, Luoyang Cultural Relics Team found a large Eastern Zhou cemetery and a number of chariots and horses in the first phase of the downtown square project. During the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, more than 600 tombs and 29 chariots and horses pits were dug. Among them, No.5 Chemakeng in Shizhong District is the most prominent. The pit is 42.6 meters long and 7.4 meters wide, with 26 cars and 70 horses buried, which is rare in China. The pit is roughly north-south, and the cars are arranged vertically in two rows. The No.2 car in the Western School is a six-horse-drawn car, which conforms to the description of "the son of heaven drives six" in the literature, and embodies the supremacy of the owner of the buried tomb and the unusual position of this cemetery. These findings provide important clues for further exploring the location of tombs and the layout of royal cities in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, and provide rich materials for studying the layout of family cemeteries in the same period. After extensively soliciting the opinions of cultural relics experts and all walks of life, and obtaining the approval of National Cultural Heritage Administration, Luoyang implemented scientific backfill protection for small and medium-sized Chemakeng in 2003, focusing on properly formulating the protection scheme for the large-scale Chemakeng site of "Emperor Driving Six", setting up a special cultural relics protection institution, and approving full-time protection personnel 13. The municipal party committee and municipal government revised the construction plan of the square, and built this special museum of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty based on the "Emperor Driving Six" chariot pit. The whole museum covers an area of over 1700 square meters, located in Wangcheng Square, and divided into two exhibition areas. The first exhibition area is the relationship between Luoyang's five major capitals and contemporary Luoyang, the general situation of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty royal city, the excavation and discovery of tombs and the precious cultural relics of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty; The second exhibition area is the large chariot pit exhibition area in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Here are two of the 17 chariots and horses pits excavated and cleaned by archaeologists in 2002-2003. In addition to horses and chariots, there are martyrs. The historical scene is still in sight, and it is the only original display of "The Emperor Driving Six" in China.
