Historical information about Macao

Macau (Portuguese: Macau), referred to as Macau for short, is usually called Haojiang, Casino and Shu Da Port, or the mirror of the sea and the mirror of the sea, and it is the first casino in the world. It is located on the north shore of the South China Sea, west of the Pearl River Estuary and 63 kilometers east of Hong Kong. The whole territory of Macao consists of four parts: Macau Peninsula, Taipa, Luhuan and Taipa City. Macao Peninsula is the core of Macao's development, and a small part of its northeast land is connected with Chinese mainland. Taizi and Luhuan were originally two independent islands, but they have been connected by reclamation, and the new land created by reclamation has been built into Luchuan City.

Macao has been the territory of China since the Qin Dynasty, belonging to Nanhai County (Guangdong Province) and Baiyue County, and belonged to Nanhai County of Jiaozhou in the Eastern Han Dynasty (governing most areas of Guangdong, Guangxi and Vietnam).
