What effect does ephedra have?

Ephedra: Sexual taste: pungent, bitter and warm.

Function: (1) Sweating: used for colds. With cassia twig, the sweating ability is enhanced, and the severe cold is cured without sweating. (2) Asthma relieving: used for empirical wheezing. Combined with gypsum and almond to treat cough and asthma (such as pneumonia) caused by lung heat. (3) diuresis: used for edema. Use gypsum, ginger and licorice to treat geomantic omen (such as acute nephritis edema).

Usage: 1.5 ~ 10g. Sweat with raw materials; Honey baking is used to relieve cough and asthma.
