Dragon King's Day: According to legend, June 13th of the lunar calendar is the birthday of the Sea Dragon King, and the sacrificial customs vary from place to place. Buyi people have the customs of offering sacrifices to the dragon king, eating dragon king meals, Buyi folk song competitions, horse racing, bird shooting and so on. Fishing is an industry in coastal areas, so Dragon King Festival is also called Fisherman's Day. Generally speaking, there are customs such as opening the light (new ships go to sea), worshiping the dragon king, worshiping the sea god, grasping the line, diving and dancing. Through these activities, people hope that the Dragon King can bless Man Cang with good weather, good harvest of crops, good harvest of fish and shrimp, and safe sailing.
