What festival is June 6th?
"June 6th" is a traditional festival of Han nationality and Buyi nationality. Due to different living areas, the dates of festivals are not uniform. Han and some Buyi areas celebrate this festival on June 6th, which is called "June 6th". Some Buyi areas celebrate the New Year on June 16th or 26th of the lunar calendar, which is called June Street or June Bridge. Every year, on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, every household in the village where Buyi people live in concentrated communities will slaughter cows and pigs, kill chickens, and wrap jiaozi to offer sacrifices to their ancestors. After that, the family drank to their heart's content. Celebrate the traditional festivals passed down from generation to generation by Buyi people.
One legend is that ...
Once upon a time, there was a Buyi descendant named Taishi. He was smart, capable, cheerful and optimistic, and had a moving voice. He often sings between farm work. His singing and personality touched a daughter of the Jade Emperor. She has been a teacher for a hundred years, and the husband and wife are very loving in all aspects. Who knows it won't last long. Soon, the fairy's descent made the jade emperor know that he would not allow his daughter to marry a mortal, so he sent the gods to break up the loving couple.
When she left, the fairy gave the teacher a gourd with tears in her eyes and told him that she would meet him from afar on the sixth day of June every year. According to the teacher's instructions, he will not continue to get married, and will go to the river to face his wife in the sky on June 6 every year until he enjoys his golden age. Later, Buyi people held a grand celebration and commemoration on the sixth day of June every year to celebrate their loyal love and express their gratitude to the fairy for giving the gourd.
