When is May Day?

The May Day of each month is the six days of Wuzi, Wuyin, Chen Wu, Wuwu, Wushen and Wuxu, which is a term of Taoism, the most important among many stresses of Taoism, and also a taboo of Xiandao. It is commonly called Pentecost or every Pentecost.

Mayday is pushed from the old almanac in the order of sixty jiazi, and every sixty days is a round. There are 38 days throughout the year, and there is no farming.

The fifth day after beginning of spring is the Spring Festival society. Many areas (such as Zhili, Huozhou, Fenxi and Jingzhou) will raise money to perform social dramas according to the size and status of villages during the Spring Festival. In Linfen, Shanxi Province, there is also the custom of holding incense parties and pretending to be a social fire.
