2. White tiger
The god of war symbolizes power and the army, so many places named after the white tiger in ancient times are related to the military, such as the white tiger flag in the ancient army and the white tiger statue on the military symbol. It is generally believed that the white tiger has many magical powers, such as avoiding evil, avoiding disasters, praying for blessings, punishing evil and promoting good, getting rich and getting married.
The origin of Qinglong
Qinglong originated from the worship of stars in ancient times. In ancient China, the stars in the sky were divided into seven star zones: "Three Walls" and "Four Elephants". "Three Walls" is the "Wei Zi Wall", which symbolizes the palace; "Taiweiyuan" symbolizes the administrative organization; The "sky wall" symbolizes the bustling market. These three walls are arranged in a triangle around Polaris.
There are four elephants around the three walls: East Black Dragon, West White Tiger, South Suzaku and North Xuanwu. In other words, the stars in the East are like a dragon. As the earth revolves around the sun, the stars in the sky change with the seasons. Every evening at the turn of winter and spring, the black dragon will appear.
The dragon is the east corner, the kang, the ground, the house, the heart, the tail and the dustpan, all of which are shaped like dragons. From their meanings, we can see that the horn is the horn of the dragon, Kang is the neck, Di is the root of the neck, Fang is the arm, and the tail is the tail.
There is also a part of the dragon's heart, which some people call "fire", which is related to sunny and rainy days. Because Qinglong belongs to wood, it is also the age of Jupiter. After the rise of Taoism, these four spirits have also been given names, which are convenient for human beings to call. Qinglong is called "Meng Zhang".
In many dynasties, some monarchs took Qinglong as their national title. For example, Wei Mingdi in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms is an example. It is recorded in Historical Records that the Xia Dynasty belonged to herding morality, so he has a good omen of "Qinglong going out of the suburbs".
On the second day of the second month of the lunar calendar, people in China call it "February 2, when the dragon rises", which symbolizes the return of spring to the earth and the revival of everything.
