Is confinement really "this can't be done and that can't be done"?

People can write a book about what they can't do during the confinement! But are some things really impossible to do? Can't take a shower? Can't wash your hair? Can't see the wind? With the improvement of living standards, "confinement without washing your hair" has become an "old yellow calendar".

On the one hand, confinement is to promote the physical recovery of pregnant women, on the other hand, it is to ensure the mental health of pregnant women.

Physiologically speaking, it usually takes six weeks from the delivery of placenta to the recovery of all organs (except breast) of parturient. This period is called puerperium. For puerperal women, each system has some special performances.

Can't I take a bath after confinement? No!

The biggest physiological change of puerperal women is the reproductive system.

After delivery, the volume of uterus is gradually reduced and the endometrium is constantly regenerated; During pregnancy, the decidua formed on the endometrium degenerates, falls off and is discharged from the vagina, which is lochia.

The lochia must be cleaned up in time, otherwise it may cause infection.

In the past, the living conditions were poor, there was no centralized water supply, and wooden barrels were used for bathing, which mainly depended on sitting bath, which increased the possibility of infection. Therefore, if you live in the old days, "confinement can't take a bath" makes sense.

However, now that the city has clean tap water and shower is the main way to take a bath, there is no such problem. Proper bathing and keeping clean are more conducive to maternal health.

Can't I wash my hair in the wind when I'm confined? No!

The second change of puerperal women is the change of circulatory system.

The change of circulatory system is divided into two parts.

Part of it is the change of blood content. Pregnant women are "two people with one mouth". We should not only ensure our own needs, but also provide nutrients for the fetus. Therefore, during pregnancy, the body will produce a lot of blood to supply the uterus.

After delivery, with the contraction and recovery of the uterus, these extra blood will flood into the maternal systemic circulation. Within 72 hours after delivery, maternal circulating blood volume will increase by 15%~25%.

In order to discharge these excess blood, the parturient will secrete a lot of sweat, which is often called mattress sweat. If it is not cleaned up in time, it may also cause infection. Therefore, it is necessary to wash your hair and take a bath, and proper ventilation is also necessary to help the parturient dissipate heat and sweat.

In ancient times, because there was no air conditioner, hair dryer and other heating equipment, and the windows were all made of paper, the warmth retention effect was very poor. It is not difficult to imagine that washing your hair under that condition is easy to catch a cold. Therefore, the ancestors explained that mothers should not wash their hair and blow their hair in the second month, and try to avoid catching cold.

There are still many old people who think that shampooing in confinement will lead to hair loss, so don't wash it. In fact, maternal hair loss is related to estrogen and oil secretion. But in fact, if you don't wash your hair all the time, the oil secreted by human scalp will remain vigorous, which will easily lead to hair loss.

Do you have to stay in bed and not exercise? No!

Another part of the change of women's circulatory system in puerperium is the change of blood state.

Although childbirth is a physiological process, it is inevitably accompanied by trauma.

In prenatal and early postpartum, maternal blood will be in a hypercoagulable state, which is particularly easy to coagulate; In this way, when there is a wound in placental abruption, the blood will quickly coagulate at the wound, which will reduce postpartum hemorrhage, thus ensuring the safety of the parturient.

However, blood in hypercoagulable state is also prone to thrombosis. Therefore, for postpartum women, we should encourage exercise and avoid lying down for a long time. Proper and gradual exercise can promote blood circulation and effectively reduce thrombosis.

Generally, postpartum 1~2 days, mainly rest; After that, you can consult a doctor and make a reasonable exercise plan, such as walking on time; Check the physical recovery 6 weeks after delivery and adjust the amount of exercise appropriately.

Is it best to drink soup instead of raw and cold seafood in confinement? No!

The third change of puerperal women is the digestive system.

During pregnancy, in order not to disturb the baby, the gastrointestinal peristalsis of pregnant women will be reduced. Postpartum 1~2 weeks, gastrointestinal activity gradually recovered. However, due to less exercise and relaxation of abdominal muscles, constipation is easy to occur.

During the puerperium, the maternal body needs a lot of nutrition to restore and secrete milk.

Therefore, we must make a scientific diet plan.

65438+ 0~2 days after delivery, due to the change of osmotic pressure, the parturient often feels thirsty, so liquid food can be given appropriately;

After that, on the one hand, we should provide fresh vegetables and fruits, protect vitamins and promote gastrointestinal peristalsis; On the other hand, we should prepare enough high-quality protein, such as milk, fish and chicken.

Do a good job in psychological counseling and beware of postpartum depression.

Giving birth to a child is a natural process, but it is not easy to change the role from pregnant woman to novice mother. Postpartum mental health is a common but often neglected problem. Whether it is the parturient herself or family and friends, we should pay attention to communication, create a good living atmosphere and maintain a good mood.

In short, having a baby is a big deal, and confinement is also a big deal. We must believe in science in major events. Some readers may think that for the tradition of confinement, "it is better to believe it, not to believe it", "it is harmless to believe it, but what if you don't believe it?" Unfortunately, science is not like this. Diseases have their own laws, and unclean lochia can cause infection; Insufficient nutritional supplement will affect lactation. Traditionally, diapers were used 30 years ago, but now diapers are mainly used. ?
