Shi Si means 9: 00 am to 10: 59 am. The ancients in China divided a day into 12 hours, and each hour is equivalent to two hours today. Twelve hours are: Zishi, Ugly Time, Yin Shi, Shi Mao, Chen Shi, Shi Si, Noon, Weishi, Shenshi, Youshi, Xushi and Shihai.
When midnight is from 23: 00 to 1: 00, recursively, 1: 00 to 3: 00 is ugly time, and 3: 00 to 5: 00 is Yin Shi time. The twelve-hour clock is unique in time and has a long history. It is an outstanding contribution of the Chinese nation to the astronomical calendar of mankind, and it is also one of the splendid cultural treasures of China.
