In Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties, in the eighth year of Tianbao (AD 749), Hengshan County was changed to Xiangtan County. The scope at that time was basically the same as now. In the Tang Dynasty, Xiangtan County was located in the Yisu River. In the Song Dynasty, Xiangtan County moved to the present downtown street.
