Similarities and differences between lunar eclipse and solar eclipse

Similarities: all of them are caused by the movement of the moon, and there are total solar eclipses and partial solar eclipses. When they happen, the sun, the earth and the moon are all in the same straight line.

The principle is that the straight-line propagation of light is hindered. An eclipse is because the moon blocks the sunlight from shining on the earth, and an eclipse is because the earth blocks the sunlight from shining on the moon, so that the moon has no sunlight reflected back to the earth. An eclipse is when the moon covers the sun, and an eclipse is when the moon enters the earth.

Difference: Eclipses have annular eclipses, but eclipses don't. Eclipses have penumbral eclipses. Eclipses start in the east and end in the west, while eclipses start in the west and end in the east.

Eclipses only occur on the first day of the lunar calendar or one or two days before and after the lunar calendar, and eclipses only occur on the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar or one or two days before and after the lunar calendar.

A solar eclipse is a typical example of light propagating in a straight line in the same homogeneous medium. When the moon moves between the sun and the earth, it is not always like this. When a lunar eclipse occurs, two conditions need to be met.
