Is 23 years a dumb year?

2023 is not a dumb year. The "dumb year" is also called "no spring year" or "widowed year". 2023 is not the year of widowhood, but the year of double spring. In China, people call a year with two beginning of spring years as a double spring year, a year with only one beginning of spring year as a single spring year, and a year without beginning of spring year as a spring-free year, also known as a widow year. The two solar terms in beginning of spring in 2023 are February 4, 2023 and February 4, 2024.
