Save money calendar

New Year's Eve, the last day of the year, is also called New Year's Eve and New Year's Eve.

There are many traditional festivals in our country, and New Year's Eve is the most important one. In the minds of China people, plagiarism has different meanings and special meanings.

There are many customs and taboos on New Year's Eve. In this regard, some traditional rules are also circulated among the people. For example, the phrase "four things can't be empty on New Year's Eve, and there will be no poverty in the coming year" literally explains that there are four things that can't be empty on New Year's Eve. If they are not empty, it means that families will not be poor in the second year, which is a beautiful meaning.

Some friends will ask, "four things are not empty", which four things cannot be empty? What is the reason? In this article, the author will talk about it in detail and everyone will have an answer after reading it.

First of all, the rice jar cannot be empty.

On New Year's Eve, the rice jar at home can't be empty, similar to the first pot. For example, this means more food every year. If the rice jar is empty, it means that the food at home is finished, which means that the next year is not good and you may be poor because there is no food to eat.

In addition, the rice tank should be not only empty, but also full. A few days before the Spring Festival, every household will buy new year's goods. In fact, we must buy more rice.

On the one hand, it ensures that rice will not be eaten up during the New Year at home; On the other hand, it also avoids having relatives at home who have no food.

Strictly speaking, the "rice" here is not only rice, but also other necessities, such as steamed bread, vegetables and meat. This should be prepared. In addition to not delaying eating, it also means filling "rice" and happiness.

Second, the pot can't be empty

Usually, after dinner at night, everyone will brush the pot clean and leave no leftovers in the pot.

On New Year's Eve, the situation is just the opposite. There must be leftovers in the pot. For example, some people will put some steamed buns in the pot, and some people will put some leftover food on New Year's Eve.

New Year's Eve is a day of reunion. Everyone goes back to their hometown from all directions regardless of difficulties and obstacles, which means they can reunite with their families on New Year's Eve and have a family reunion dinner with them. So the food is more abundant.

I can't finish eating, so I will leave some leftovers in the pot, which means that there is surplus food at home every year, and I will not be poor.

Third, the gate cannot be empty.

This means that on New Year's Eve, before going to bed, you should put a stick at the gate (if you can't find a stick, you can also put sugar cane) to ensure that the gate can't be empty. In the eastern part of Henan where the author lives, basically every household will put a stick.

As for the reasons, according to the folk, there are three aspects.

First of all, this stick is called the "god-guarding stick". On New Year's Eve, there will be many "family gods" at home. Sacrifice on New Year's Eve is for these family gods, so that they can bless the family and everything goes well. Therefore, the purpose of putting a stick at the door is to keep these family gods.

Secondly, from another perspective, the stick at the door is also called "the stick to stop the poor". It is said that on New Year's Eve, some poor gods haunt the village. Because they are different from family gods (some people worship them), poor gods have no destination to go to their homes. If poor gods enter the home, it means that they will be poor in the next year. Therefore, people don't want poor gods to enter their homes, so every family will put a wooden stick at the door to stop them.

Third, in addition to the above two, there is another saying that it can "ward off evil spirits", especially putting peach charms, which can play a corresponding role.

Based on the above three reasons, the gate cannot be empty on New Year's Eve.

Fourth, the pillow is not empty.

When getting ready for bed on New Year's Eve, the pillow should not be empty for the children at home.

According to the eastern part of Henan where the author lives, parents will give lucky money, put it under their children's pillows and let them sleep on them, which means staying "old" and hoping to be young forever.

However, the lucky money on New Year's Eve is different from the lucky money on the morning of the first day of the first month. New Year's Eve is just a symbolic lucky money, but on the morning of the first day of the first month, it is considered as a formal lucky money, or called a New Year's red envelope.

According to their parents, in the past, when they were young, their grandparents would give them lucky money, regardless of the amount, as long as they had lucky money, 1 yuan, 2 yuan and 5 yuan would do. Now, 100 yuan is more common, and this custom is still observed until now.

Besides, putting money under the pillow means that I still have money on the last night of the year, and I won't be poor next year. If I don't put money, it means that I have no money this year and I will be poor next year.

Seeing this, I believe everyone has a certain understanding of the sentence "Four days are not empty on New Year's Eve, and the next year will not be poor".

Some people say that these are old calendars, which may be applicable to the past, but not to the present.

It is also said that everyone yearns for a beautiful and happy life, whether it is a custom or an old calendar, and wants to cross it as much as possible. Some old traditions need to be passed down.

What do you think of this?
