Guiping, also known as Zhou Xun, is located in the southeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The Tropic of Cancer runs through the middle, and Qianjiang, Yujiang and Jiang Xun meet in the urban area. Guiping County was founded in the first year of Liang Dynasty (502). From the Tang Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty, Guiping County was always the seat of Zhou Xun county, prefecture, road and government. In May, 1994 withdrew from the county to set up a city; 10, 1996, Guiping City was placed under Guigang City.
