What does Yutang mean?
Yutang originally meant a palace decorated with beautiful jade. Later, there was a saying that "crossing the Golden Gate and going to the Jade Hall", meaning No.1, became an important official in the DPRK. During the Han dynasty, the ministers of the DPRK and China all worked in the Jade Palace. After the Song Dynasty, Yutang was renamed the Hanlin Academy, so Yutang refers to the Hanlin Academy.
The word Yutang comes from Song Yu's Phoenix House in the Warring States Period: "Then, if you wander into the atrium, go north to Yutang, meet in Luowei and cross the bridal chamber, it will be the wind of kings."
