Guangling New Town Civic Center Square is a comprehensive open square integrating commemoration, celebration, civic activities, entertainment, leisure and commerce in the new town. It is an important project in the construction of Wenbo City, and it is open on the occasion of celebrating the 2500th anniversary of the city. The project covers an area of 103 mu, located in the center of characteristic commercial water street, which is the visual node of the humanistic landscape of Guangling New Town and the exhibition center of the city logo image. The ground part of the square includes the main entrance square, the 2500-year time axis, the sunken commercial square, the outdoor small theater, the rest space under the forest, the poetry art square, the dining leisure square, the art museum and other multifunctional spaces; The underground building has two floors, with a construction area of about 78,000 square meters, mainly in the form of supermarkets, restaurants, entertainment, specialty stores and parking lots.

The main entrance square is the exhibition surface of the whole square. Six groups of light sculptures open the chapter of the century axis, and the design of brick elements in the ancient city adds a historical memory. The embossed wall, with the waterline as the image, runs through the picture horizontally, and also symbolizes the 2500-year history of Yangzhou. Ten murals are based on sails, and the content is based on the deeds of historical celebrities, depicting the vivid story of Yangzhou history. The entrance waterscape sculpture better highlights the soul of the square. The square sculpture in the pool is designed with Guangling Wang Yuxi as the prototype. On the front of the sculpture, it is written with the big seal script, which means inheriting the predecessors' career, opening up the future road, expressing and inheriting Yangzhou culture in the last 2500 years, and interpreting the wonderful things in the next 2500 years. On the back, the book "Make the past serve the present" expresses the meaning of inheriting ancient culture and carrying forward modern civilization.

The vertical axis is arranged on both sides of the main road with the 2500 Yangzhou important deeds carved on the ground. The creativity of the pattern comes from the old calendar style in the calendar, which records the footprint of Yangzhou city development in 2500 and shows the memory of the city.

The horizontal urban change map is paved on the east and west main roads in the form of ground sculptures, showing the change history of Yangzhou ancient city in the past 2500 years.

On both sides of the central axis are two sunken squares and characteristic leisure spaces. Sunken plaza echoes the undulating terraced landscape and underground commercial leisure and entertainment functions.

The artistic space of poetry shows the profoundness of Yangzhou woodblock printing and the long history of Yangzhou culture. The woodcut is divided into 36 blocks, which are staggered and arranged, and there are 8 lamp holders in the woodcut space. Woodcuts are displayed in the form of pictures and words. Visitors can take a break in the poetry space, read poems describing Yangzhou, and feel the history of Yangzhou and the traditional technology of woodcut printing.

On the square, four statues of historical celebrities with deep roots in Yangzhou were also selected and arranged along both sides of the road, namely Ji Kang, Dong Zhongshu, Zhu Ziqing and Zheng Banqiao.
