What do you mean, turn on the light?
Opening the light is a religious ceremony, which means that people who have reached a certain level of practice give special spiritual power to eliminate the bad magnetic field of objects through certain procedures such as sutra printing and chanting, and give special spiritual power to objects, so that jade handicrafts or furniture furnishings can be used to adjust Feng Shui or protect themselves. Opening the light is a respectful and grand ceremony, not very magical. If you have full respect, purity and self-confidence, you can also enlighten yourself.

What items need lighting before use?
According to different religions, different items need to be lit. For example, in Buddhism, the Buddha statue must be illuminated, as well as its icon, prayer wheel, prayer beads and some common protective articles. There are many things that need to be lit in Taoism, and many things that need to be used can be used for lighting, plus all kinds of gossip, compasses, pagodas, beasts, wind chimes, incense burners and so on.
How to turn on the light
Buddhism opens the light: Buddhism does not open the light originally, but there is a ceremony to pray for Buddha statues, which is similar to opening the light. So far, it's all called opening the light. Enlightenment of Buddhists means opening the door to wisdom. For example, Buddhists and Bodhisattvas are sacrificed to invite them to appear in icons. This kind of invitation can't be completed in a day or two, but it will only be effective if they are invited for a long time. Therefore, it is necessary to make a sincere sacrifice for a period of time before being invited.
Taoist practice: Taoist practice is more complicated. You need to dip in the altar and then draw a spell to recite it. However, the opening hours are relatively short. Generally, the opening time of this altar will not exceed one day, even if the altar is over, the opening is over.
Folk lighting: generally speaking, it is effective to require folk yin and yang teachers to follow strict procedures and rituals, that is, clearing, loading, lighting and energizing. If you are psychic or sensitive, you may smell a faint smell of sandalwood.
How to distinguish between true and false
Then how can we ordinary people tell the difference between true and false? The most direct way is to issue the official seal or special seal for the opening of a regular temple and the "opening certificate" printed by Sambo. If not, you may want to ask a few questions:
1. Where will the opening ceremony be held? Which mage presided over it?
2. Is there a business opening certificate stamped with the temple seal?
3. Can you ask the temple for verification?
4. Can I go to the opening ceremony?
Fake business opening certificates popular in the market:
(1) shoddy, wholesale market.
(2) There is no introduction on the certificate, only the words "Chinese Buddhist Association". Is it possible for Chinese Buddhist Association to participate in the printing of practice certificate? The authenticity can be imagined.
(3) The certificate has no seal, or is stamped with "Three Treasures of Fo Yin", but the seal is rough and solemn.
(4) The certificate has no official seal of the temple, so it cannot be identified and verified. Some have seals, but the seals are suspected to be made by themselves. For example, we found a certificate named "Master" with the seal of "* * Pavilion" on it. In fact, "* * Pavilion" is actually the name of this store, and "* * Master" is also an employee of this store. The shopkeeper made his friends mistake "Master" for a monk and "Pavilion" for a Buddhist or Taoist Dojo. Buddhist monks are generally called "mages" and "big monks", and masters are mostly regarded as buddhas. Therefore, apart from a few eminent monks and great virtues who have made great contributions, few living wizards are regarded as masters.
(5) Most online stores even refuse to shop at home, let alone attend the opening ceremony, so don't be deceived.
