The Yellow River Diversion Project is located in the northwest of Shanxi Province. It takes water from Wanjiazhai Reservoir on the main stream of the Yellow River and supplies water to Taiyuan, Datong and Shuozhou energy bases respectively. It consists of four parts: trunk line, south trunk line, connecting section and north trunk line. The designed annual water diversion is 654.38+200 million cubic meters. The total length of the water transfer line is 449.8 kilometers, and the project will be implemented by stages: the first phase of the project will realize the annual water transfer of 320 million cubic meters to Taiyuan through the main line, the south main line and the liaison section; The second phase of the project will transfer 560 million cubic meters of water to Shuozhou and Datong through the trunk line and the north trunk line, and finally realize the annual transfer of water to Taiyuan of 640 million cubic meters. Diversion of Yellow River into Shanxi is a large-scale inter-basin water transfer project to fundamentally solve the shortage of water resources in Shanxi.
