What is the ecliptic?
The zodiac is an area extending eight degrees from the orbit of the sun on the earth to both sides. In western astrology, there is a "return to the ecliptic" calculated by the vernal equinox, and in Indian astrology, there is a "stellar ecliptic" calibrated by fixed stars. The ecliptic is the track of the sun in the sky for one year, and it is also the star in the track of the great circle formed by the earth's orbital plane in the celestial sphere. Ancient astronomers were divided into different constellations according to these constellations, including eighteen constellations, fourteen constellations and twelve constellations. In ancient Babylonian astrology, 12 constellations which are easily divided into 30 degrees and 12 are regarded as zodiac signs, and different constellation totems (such as Sagittarius, Leo, etc. ) is based on different symbolic figures.
