This film is based on the masterpiece of British Major Arendt who died in World War II. The story took place in Yorkshire, England during the Great Depression. Sam Goklaw was born in a poor family. Lacey, a sheepdog, was his only valuable thing and a good partner of his son Joe Goklaw. Forced to make a living, Sam sold Lacey to the Duke for 15 gold coins. Lacey escaped from the Duke's house twice and was sent back by Sam. Finally, the Duke brought Lacey to Scotland. The duke's granddaughter Priscilla promised Joe to take care of Lacey. While in Scotland, Pusila helped Lacey escape from the Duke's kennel. Lacey is on her way back to Joe. On the way, Lacey was spared by the shepherd and swam across the river. She was saved by a pair of old people, helped by Mr. Bai, a street vendor, and helped when the unemployed robbed Mr. Bai. He escaped from the dog trap, and although he fell, he returned to Joe's house. At this point, the Duke came to see you. Although he admitted Lacey, he let her stay with Joe and hired Sam as his kennel staff. Lacey and Joe finally became good partners again.

The plot of the film is coherent and the story is touching, which fully shows the story of the film in the 1940s. This is a classic description of human and animal emotions.
