Whose birthday is the ninth day of the eighth lunar month?
The ninth day of August is not the birthday of the Bodhisattva, but the birthday of the Jade Emperor, the highest god in the sky. God is the Jade Emperor and the highest god who rules the three realms. It belongs to one of the traditional lunar festivals in China.
Tiangong is the supreme god who commands the ten gods inside and outside the three realms and all the gods on the earth, representing the supreme heaven. In the traditional folk custom of this day, women prepared incense sticks and lent bowls, and put them outdoors at the entrance of patio lane to worship heaven and pray for God's blessing, which pinned the good wishes of the working people in China to eliminate evil, avoid disasters and pray for blessings.
On the ninth day of the eighth lunar month, "Chengyuan Festival" is an important festival of Taoism. On this day, Emperor Tsinghua will descend to earth to show the kindness of the emperor's soil and water.
