What do you mean by veneer?

The process of sticking surface decoration materials to the surface of man-made board with adhesive. After veneer processing, the water resistance, heat resistance, wear resistance and decorative efficiency of wood-based panels have been greatly improved. Decorative materials used to cover the surface of artificial board include thermosetting resin decorative laminate, rotary-cut or planed veneer, artificial veneer, rotary-cut or woven bamboo board, decorative paper printed with patterns or plain colors, metal foil and plastic film. The adhesive used for pasting depends on the nature of the facing material. When sticking plastic film, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion resin (EVA) should be used, and urea-formaldehyde resin with lower price can be used as other veneer materials. If the rolling veneer process is adopted, pressure-sensitive resin can be used. The basic technology of veneer processing includes sanding and dust removal on the surface of wood-based panel, coating adhesive on the surface, assembling veneer material with wood-based panel, pressing and trimming. For products covered with wood, bamboo and decorative paper, the surface should be oiled after pruning. Wood-based panels with veneers, especially sliced veneers, have the best decorative effect and are often used to make high-grade furniture and interior decoration. Wood-based panels covered with plastic films can be slotted and folded at right angles without breaking, and are suitable for manufacturing housings of various audio equipment (such as televisions and radios). Wood-based panels covered with thermosetting resin decorative laminates have the best heat resistance, wear resistance, pollution resistance and aging resistance, and are mainly used for kitchen furniture and desktops.
