What does this day mean?

The date refers to the twelfth lunar month, the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month.

Mayday is pushed from the old almanac in the order of sixty jiazi, and every sixty days is a round. All the year round, we don't farm for 38 days. Ancestors believe that "May Day" is Earth Day, and on this day, God will travel in the land. Therefore, on the day before May Day, people in various villages and some old people will beat gongs and drums to tell you that you can't plant land on May Day, otherwise it will offend the land god and affect the harvest of the year.

According to ancient books, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty asked the Queen Mother of the West why there was a famine on earth. The Queen Mother of the West said that the rotation of the four seasons on June 5 would offend Yin and Yang and disturb the land god, so it would lead to evil winds and rain.

Of course, this statement is only ancient ancestors' worship and superstition of nature and their fear of natural disasters.
