What is the experience of having a superstitious old man at home?

There is a superstitious old man at home, and I feel really helpless. I usually like to burn incense and worship Buddha. After all, the elderly have their own freedom of belief, but sometimes it is a bit excessive for the elderly at home to interfere with their children's normal life because of superstition. Sometimes they will have differences because of these, and sometimes they can only bear it hard, as long as they don't hurt themselves and their families. After all, their ideas can't be changed in a day or two. Usually, they will tell them more scientific truth, and gradually.

Many people are very disgusted with the superstitious behavior of the elderly at home. In fact, I think it is not incomprehensible to consider this matter from their point of view sometimes. They all suffered a lot when they were young and received little education. They can only use superstition to explain things they can't understand, so when they meet old people who are particularly superstitious at home, they should patiently and slowly reason with them, and they will gradually understand.

For example, my grandmother thinks that if she cooks a dish with soy sauce for her pregnant sister-in-law, the skin will turn black when the child is born, so she is not allowed to cook or put soy sauce after pregnancy. Later, when my brother gave an expert lecture on TV, the grandmother realized that soy sauce did not contain raw materials for synthesizing melanin, which would not promote the synthesis of melanin. Therefore, eating soy sauce during pregnancy will not turn black. Therefore, I think it is acceptable for the elderly to instill more scientific truth into them.

Another time, my brother was going to take the college entrance examination, and my grandmother put a lot of runes in his room that she allegedly asked for in the temple, saying that it could bless his brother to take the college entrance examination smoothly. Although this is superstition, it is also a wish of her grandmother to let her brother take the college entrance examination smoothly, so everyone makes her hang various runes. In this case, as a family member, there is no need to be too serious, and it will not hinder life anyway. After all, sometimes it is understandable that the old people in the family are a little superstitious.
