These words must have been new at that time. I wonder how many young people were awakened by such cries. Today's young people will be inspired to read it. I'm afraid it won't affect much. People are a numb animal, because their consciousness and senses are too rich, but when they are rich, they will be confused and lost, and they can't grasp the essence. People float in complex consciousness all day long, but they never know their true and clear thinking. Perhaps the function of this article is to give people a positive hint. I don't believe that reading this article will have any profound inspiration, and even think it is boring. Probably just an errand.

Warning to Youth is a cry of despair and hope of revolutionaries. At that time, China gradually brightened up from the dark days when there was no democracy, autonomy and human rights for thousands of years, and moved towards today's "sunshine" society. It's not that "a rooster crows the world", but that ten thousand crowing and bleeding cocks in Qian Qian are dispersing the darkness of China for thousands of years day after day. Even so, today's society in China has not become "white", and the youth in China have not become "fresh and lively". There are still many people sleeping in the dark. Revolution, revolution, we don't know the difficulties. After a long time, we don't even have the respect that these two words deserve. Therefore, the road for revolutionaries will be so difficult and long.

When we read it today, we shouldn't think it is the old yellow calendar at the bottom of the cabinet, and the young people stimulated by it are just like Shen You's love in the old yellow calendar. If so, it is equivalent to reading "Warning to Youth" and being a numb youth that Chen Duxiu wants to inspire. No matter how well the comments are written and how noble Chen Duxiu is, it is also in vain. Otherwise, the ultimate destination of such a great man can only be to die in that thin photo in the history book.

Chapter two: Tell young people what they think after reading. 19 15, Chen Duxiu wrote "Tell Young People" for Youth Magazine, which promoted democracy and scientific ideas, and proposed that "young people are like early spring, like sunrise, like the germination of flowers." Obviously, if the country wants to make progress, it needs the vast number of young people to make progress. As the pillars of the country, it is necessary for young people to broaden their horizons and break through the cage of old ideas. In fact, just before 19 15, Yuan Shikai stole the fruits of the victory of the Revolution of 1911, intending to restore the monarchy and vigorously respect Confucius' countercurrent. A large number of decadent people across the country took the opportunity to raise the banner of restoring the old times. Seeing that the feudal autocratic monarchy overthrown by the Revolution of 1911 for more than two thousand years is about to return to the stage, how can people with lofty ideals stand idly by? At this moment, it is urgent to awaken the youth's consciousness of a strong country.

Under the social background at that time, the old-fashioned ideas for thousands of years have already been deeply rooted in people's hearts, and many young people are no exception. Faced with this situation, Chen Duxiu is extremely worried, and what's more, he criticizes those young people who are self-contemptuous and do not strive for progress, which can be called birds of a feather. He pointed out that some young people were fresh and lively at first, but later they were assimilated by stale things. Some young people were originally members of Thank You Sir, but under the threat of die-hards, they became depressed and retreated. How can such young people be used for the prosperity of the country and how can such young people promote the development of the times? They can only be crushed to death under the wheels of the die-hards. Therefore, Chen Duxiu solemnly put forward in the book to youth that only those young people who consciously and bravely struggle and make decisions in the revolution can conform to the trend of the times. Chen Duxiu pointed out that the young people needed by the country are independent rather than slaves, progressive rather than conservative, enterprising rather than retired, helping the world rather than being locked up, utilitarian rather than imaginary, and scientific rather than imaginary. Generally speaking, young people need to be independent, forward-looking and pragmatic. We must have the heart to strive consciously and dare to sacrifice. Speaking of autonomy, Chen Duxiu thinks that as a person, you must first have your own personality. Listen, living like a slave is no different from a puppet. At that time, feudal thought was still the mainstream trend of thought, and women's status was low. However, Chen Duxiu dared to propose learning from the West, destroying monarchical power and cracking down on feudal ethics, and women could also participate in politics. This requires great courage and ambition. Let me talk about the progressive demand of young people. From ancient times to the present, China has always regarded itself as a celestial kingdom, closed its doors to the outside world, and even felt complacent. In fact, compared with western European countries, we are far behind. It was not until Lin Zexu, Wei Yuan and others opened their eyes to see the world and put forward the idea of learning from foreigners to control foreigners that China began to learn advanced western technology. Therefore, as a young man, it is necessary to look at the world with an inclusive attitude. Throughout history, wars, the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, Eight-Nation Alliance's invasion of China, etc. The people of China were tortured by the war, and countless people were displaced. Indeed, historical disasters can't be forgotten, but Chen Duxiu also saw that the invasion of foreign powers opened China's door to the world to some extent and played an important role in pushing China to the world. As young people, we should not be one-sided exclusive, but bear the burden of humiliation and strive for the rise of China. Chen Duxiu advocates science and democracy and opposes ignorance and autocracy. Therefore, he believes that the so-called ritual system in the Western Zhou Dynasty and the ousting of a hundred schools in the Han Dynasty and the exclusive respect for Confucianism are obstacles to social progress. Young people in the new era should not be bound by old morality, but should carry forward new culture and new morality. What we need is not high-sounding words, but to put words into practice, to cure the country's long-standing ills with science and reason, and to make the country look brand-new.

After reading Warning to Youth, I seem to hear bells ringing in my ears, and I think of the role of Chueh-hui created by Ba Jin in Home. Chueh-hui lived in a big feudal family, and many relatives in the family couldn't control themselves and obeyed the arrangements of their elders. Living a decent life, but my soul is already empty. Chueh-hui didn't want to go this way. He thinks it is necessary to break the shackles of the cage. Revolution needs victims, so he should be such a victim. Therefore, he resolutely left this dull big family. From Chueh-hui, I saw the shadow of the new youth that Chen Duxiu expected. Real youth must put aside themselves and fight bravely for the progress of the whole society. Nowadays, how many days and nights have passed since 19 15, and how many spring and autumn seasons, generations of young people are awakening, and the status of the country in the international arena is constantly improving. But we still need to reflect, and it is necessary to reflect deeply. Nowadays, although teenagers are no longer self-disciplined, there are more people moaning without illness. Although they are not without ideals, there are more people boasting. Seeing that the phenomenon of conformity and comparison is getting more and more serious, how can we not worry? I don't know how to be diligent, but more people waste time. Even myself, many times I will fall into a daze and become idle for a long time. Therefore, "Warning to Youth" is really a wake-up call for contemporary youth. Without the hard work of young people, there would be no country's strength. People must consider how to stand without a skeleton. If the young people in our country are corrupted, how can our country stand on its feet? I think I have to wake up, and so do young people. The future of our motherland is in our hands. So humiliation will not make us repeat the same mistakes, but will make us work harder.
