What do you know about death judges?

I didn't understand it before. 1992, known as the year of Stephen Chow. That year, all seven films starring him were among the top ten in Hong Kong box office, and the top five were among them. This is not only unprecedented in the history of Hong Kong film, but also unparalleled. This year, his Deer King, Truant, Wei Long 2 and Wu Zhuangyuan Su are all high-quality movies. I don't understand why he topped the box office at that time, and the film that broke the box office record of Hong Kong films was his Death Judge, and I don't understand why he was nominated for the best actor for his role as Song Shijie in this film. I saw this film a long time ago, but I don't think it is excellent. Certainly not as funny as his white face Bao Qingtian. After several accidental thoughts, I finally turned it out and watched it again today.

First, I look for the Mandarin version. After watching it for a few minutes, it was quickly closed. It's not grouper who dubs. After searching, there is no dubbing version of this film. Stephen Chow's Mandarin films have not been dubbed for the first time, and the wonderful degree has dropped by at least one third. For a better experience, I changed to the original Cantonese Stephen Chow dubbing. To my surprise, Stephen Chow's Cantonese voice in this movie is very similar to that of grouper, which made me misunderstand that Stephen Chow is the Cantonese voice of grouper for a few seconds. It seems that this film really wants to see the Cantonese version. I read Mandarin a long time ago. No wonder I have a bad impression.

The general plot of the film is that Song Shijie, a famous lawyer, wants to stop writing and switch to business, but his wife sees that Yang Xiuzhen, a commoner, was framed by her aunt, so she advises her to write. In the process of prosecution, he was framed and imprisoned, then pretended to be crazy and ran away, and finally complained to the government for justice.

The whole main plot is no different from Ma Yue Opera in the 1940s. To tell the truth, this main plot is really bad, but with the hard performance of a group of powerful actors headed by Stephen Chow and director Du Qifeng, it has become a sad comedy, and the case is martial arts. From time to time, I feel the deep meaning behind the exaggerated expression, and suddenly a spoof hodgepodge is turned out under the serious lens. This subversive interpretation is vividly displayed in front of us, making us laugh with tears.
