Zhangerzhuang Town has a long history. Before the founding of New China, it belonged to the central area of daming county. In the 33rd year of the Republic of China (1August, 944), the organizational system of Wei County was restored and it belonged to Wei County. 1953, Zhangerzhuang Township was established. 1958, Zhang erzhuang commune was established. 1984, relocation of Zhangerzhuang Township. On March 20 10, the town was withdrawn from the township and built. Because the town government was located in Zhangerzhuang Village, it was named Zhangerzhuang Town.
