What festival is 15 in the third month of the lunar calendar?

This day is the traditional Miao festival Sisters' Day.

Miao Sisters' Festival, also known as "Sisters' Meal Festival", is a traditional Miao festival in Laotun and Shidong areas of Taijiang County, Guizhou Province. It is held from March 15th to 17th of the lunar calendar every year.

At that time, young Miao men and women put on festive costumes and gathered in Rongjiang, Yangjia and Pianzhai to celebrate this traditional festival with national characteristics. Miao people of all branches in Taijiang County celebrate Sister Festival at different times, mostly from 1 month to May. The most representative and influential sister festival of Taijiang Miao nationality is the sister festival in Shidong area.

On May 20th, 2006, the Miao Sisters' Festival declared by Taijiang County was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

The legend of Miao Sisters' Day mainly comes from Sisters' Day Song, which is more than 500 lines long. According to legend, menstruation has two children, one is called Jiao and the other is called Jiao. They grew up together, and when they grew up, they fell in love with each other. Then they must marry Jiao, and Jiao must get married, but their parents and people object.

Jiao's parents want her to marry back to her uncle's house (traditional Miao customs call it "returning the mother's head"). Jiao doesn't want to go back to her uncle's house, but she must marry her uncle; Then I don't want to marry someone else, and I have been waiting for Jiao. They secretly date every day for loyal love. Worried that parents and Zhai Lao would find out, they met in the wild and fell in love.

Every time, Jiao used her bamboo basket with needle and thread to secretly hide the rice and take it with her. Year after year, after a hard and indomitable struggle, they finally became husband and wife. Therefore, there is an allusion to "sister rice", that is, Miao language calls the food brought to lovers "hidden rice", which translates into Chinese as "sister".

Later, I don't know how many years passed. It is said that 800 girls in Shidong area of Taijiang county can't get married because they can't find boyfriends. There are 800 young men in the Tang Dynasty, who are single because they can't find a wife.

The old people remembered the story of Jiao He eating "sister rice", so they taught the girls to invite 800 young people from the Three Soldiers of the Tang Dynasty to eat "sister rice" by Jiao He. In this way, everyone found their Mr. Right and became husband and wife. Since then, eating "sister meals" has evolved into a festival activity with young men and women choosing lovers as the main content.

Young Miao men and women admire Jiao He's persistence in love and take them as examples to face difficulties. Sisterhood Day comes from this. According to "Ancient Songs of Miao Nationality", Sister Festival used to be a festival in areas where Miao people live in compact communities, but now most of it has been lost, and only Taijiang County still retains this custom completely.
