Born in 1950, originally from Shanghai. Master of Philosophy, Taiwan Province Provincial University, Ph.D., Yale University, USA, studied under the master of philosophy Mr. Fang Dongmei. He used to be the head of the Department of Philosophy of Taiwan Province Provincial University, the director of the Institute of Philosophy, and the chair professor of Leuven University and Leiden University in the Netherlands.

He has made great achievements in teaching, research, writing, speaking and translation. I have studied philosophy for nearly 30 years and Chinese studies for nearly 20 years. Because his parents believed in Christianity, western traditions had a great influence on him since childhood, so he studied western philosophy first. When he was twenty-three or four years old, he began to study China's philosophy, entered the Institute of Philosophy of National Taiwan University, studied under the master of philosophy, Mr. Fang Dongmei, and realized the unique value of China's philosophy before he really began to study China's philosophy. Before the age of 40, contact with Confucianism. After the age of 40, I began to devote myself to studying Taoism. After the age of 50, I devoted myself to studying the Book of Changes.
