Crossing the sea Guanyin:

Most temples in Xiaoshan are dedicated to Guanyin crossing the sea, that is, the statue of Guanyin crossing the sea, with a fish on his foot and a water bottle in his hand, in order to get water to relieve boredom.

A leaf Guanyin:

Guanyin is one of the pictures of thirty-three guanyin. Because Guanyin floats on the water by a lotus leaf, it is also called lotus leaf Guanyin.

According to legend, Poyang Lake area often floods, inundating farmland and destroying houses. One year in Xia Zhishi, there was a heavy rain in January. The lake is soaring, the waves are huge, and the lake embankment is about to be washed away. If the flood continues, the consequences will be unimaginable. Thousands of lives are at stake. Master Guanyin saved the suffering and took a lotus leaf to float on the water, so the wind and waves stopped and the flood gradually subsided.

When they saw Guanyin's real body, they all fell to the ground and bowed down to thank the Bodhisattva for helping the flood and the people.

After the flood receded, the local people donated money to build Guanyin Island in the center of the lake to worship Guanyin's real posture when riding a lotus leaf to eliminate the flood, which was later called Ye Guanyin to ensure that there would never be a flood here.
