Shangqiu Historical Culture Shangqiu has a history of many years.

15,000 years ago, Sui Ren, the leader of Huang San, was born in Shangqiu, where Sui Ming State was established.

Shangqiu, referred to as Shang or Song for short, is a prefecture-level city in Henan Province and is known as the gateway to eastern Henan. Shangqiu is a battleground for ancient military strategists and a gathering place for businessmen.

Shangqiu is a national historical and cultural city, an important birthplace of Chinese civilization and nation, and an important ancient capital of China. Sui, Zhu, Zhuan Xu and other three emperors and five emperors, as well as Xia, Shang, Zhou, Song, Han, Jin, Liang and Song dynasties all established their capitals here.
