Does a4 paper usually use 70g or 80g?

A4 copy paper has two specifications, one is 70g and the other is 80g.

A4 copy paper 70g is slightly thinner than 80g, and its density is slightly lower. Generally speaking, the grams of these two kinds of paper have little to do with thickness, but are related to density.

The so-called grams are only calculated in square meters. Paper with a gram of 1 m2, in other words, this gram of paper can be cut into A5, still called 70g or 80g.

Grams means the weight of paper per square meter. Of course, the bigger the grams, the better, but it depends on the capability of your printer. In general, the printer will grind your paper feed wheel when printing large grams of paper, so the paper feed wheel will be scrapped after printing thick paper for a period of time, so it is recommended to use 70g unless you have a special purpose.

70g paper is often used for printing paper and copy paper, while 80g paper is relatively small, which is a relatively high-grade printing product, and is often used for printing and making single copies of bidding documents.

Paper density

The fibers of paper should be dense and thin. Paper may be too thick because its fibers are too thin. On the one hand, it affects the quality of copying and imaging (that is, the paper separation rate), on the other hand, it is easy to produce paper wool and scraps, which will pollute the machine. Especially the dirty optical part will cause the bottom ash of copying. Paper is too brittle, easy to crack and lead to paper jam, which also affects the long-term storage of copies and photocopies.

Stiffness of paper

Although some papers have proper grams, they are not necessarily suitable for photocopiers. The reason is that weight and stiffness are two different things, and often due to poor stiffness, it will wrinkle and block when it encounters slight resistance during transmission. If there are two kinds of paper, both of which are 70g per square meter, but the fiber structure of the paper is soft and stiff, it will be deformed and wrinkled with a little resistance, and often paper jams. Therefore, the electrostatic copier can only use relatively hard paper.
