The belief that bad luck is insurmountable.

Tan Qian, a historian, appeared in Zhejiang in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. Tan Qian studied hard since childhood, read widely, especially loved history, and was determined to write an accurate and credible Ming history. But because my family is poor and I have no money to buy books, I have to borrow books and copy them everywhere. Once, in order to copy some historical materials, I took dry food for more than 100 miles. After more than 20 years' struggle and six revisions, Tan Qian finally finished a Chronicle of the Ming Dynasty with more than 4 million words in his fifties. )》。

In the face of this masterpiece that can be told through the ages, the joy in Tan Qian's heart can be imagined. However, just before the manuscript went to press, an unexpected thing happened. One night, a thief sneaked into his house and saw that there was nothing to steal around his house. He thought that the manuscript of Guoque locked in a bamboo box was valuable property and stole the whole bamboo box. Since then, this precious manuscript has been missing. More than 20 years of hard work has vanished in an instant, which is a fatal blow to anyone, not to mention Tan Qianben's infirmity and senility. He can't sleep at night without thinking about tea and rice. Only two lines of tears kept flowing. Many people thought that he would never stand up again, but er (? ) Yun didn't beat Tan Qian. He quickly broke free from the pain and returned to his desk, determined to write this history book from scratch.

After four years of hard work, he finished the first draft of the new book. In order to make this book more complete and accurate, 59-year-old Tan Qian came to Beijing with the manuscript. During his stay in Beijing, he searched everywhere, extensively collected anecdotes from past dynasties, and personally went to the suburbs to inspect historical sites. He is in rags and runs around in the sand all day. Facing the lonely lamp, he worked hard regardless of his old age and infirmity, knowing that life was running out of time for himself. After several years of struggle, a new country was born. The newly written Guoque, with a total volume of 104 and 4.284 million words, is more informative and wonderful than the original, and it is a rare masterpiece of Ming history. Tan Qian is also famous in history.

In the long journey of life, it is inevitable that there will be bumps, but as long as there is an unbreakable belief in bad luck, the light of hope will dispel the clouds of despair.
