The tomb of 18 was discovered in Anshang Village, Neihuang County, and it was initially identified as a noble tomb of Shang Dynasty.

Archaeologists are excavating the ancient tomb.

The village chief accidentally discovered the ancient tomb, and archaeologists unearthed bronze fragments and pottery fragments in the ancient tomb. The cypress in the tomb is very thick, which is very close to the site of Tai Wuling in Shang Dynasty. Experts preliminarily concluded that this ancient tomb group was an aristocratic tomb group in the middle and early Shang Dynasty. At present, archaeologists are still exploring and studying further.

An ancient tomb was found in a pit nearly 20 meters deep

On the east side of the bank village of Bocheng Town, Neihuang County, Anyang City, someone accidentally found some wood while borrowing soil nearby. After on-site investigation by experts from Neihuang County Cultural Relics and Tourism Bureau, it was found that this is an ancient tomb.

Subsequently, personnel from several archaeological departments rushed to the scene to study the ancient tomb.

Yesterday, Zhengzhou Evening News reporter saw at the scene that the archaeological site was about 20 meters deep. Standing on the ground and looking down, you can see that there are many graves, some of which have been covered and protected by plastic film.

After an archaeologist opened the plastic film, the reporter saw a lot of wood inside, some with square cross sections, some with irregular shapes, and many with black marks. Judging from the excavated tombs, the coffins are basically the same size, about 2.5 meters long and 1.5 meters wide. The reporter didn't see human bones and funerary objects.

The other coffin is relatively complete, without littering. There is a lot of mud on the coffin, but you can't see what's inside.

Two coffins close together are shaped like an "8" and face in different directions.

At the scene, several staff members are digging a grave. The staff protected the coffin during the excavation. They fixed thin boards on the coffin and fixed them with nails, so that the coffin that was easy to crack formed a whole.

Experts believe that the level of ancient tombs is very high.

The number of ancient tombs excavated this time is shocking.

"* * * found 18 ancient tomb, four of which are relatively complete, with human bones and fragments of bronzes and pottery, which Anyang Archaeological Research Institute has taken away for research. So far, no epitaph has been found at the excavation site, and no jade and stone funerary objects have been found. " Yesterday, Li Shuyu, Party Secretary of Neihuang County Cultural Relics and Tourism Bureau, said.

Experts from Anyang Workstation of Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Henan Institute of Archaeology and Anyang Institute of Archaeology found that these coffins were all made of cypress and were very thick. Experts initially judged that it was a group of noble tombs in the early Shang Dynasty, with a large scale and high grade.

"Judging from the archaeological situation in recent years, we have never found such a well-preserved early coffin of the Shang Dynasty. This excavation provides a physical reference for studying the tomb shape and funeral culture in the early Yin and Shang Dynasties. " Li Shuyu said.

There is a saying in the history books that "Taiwu is the capital of Bo". Emperor Taiwu of Shang Dynasty was the capital of Bo, and was buried in the southeast of Bo after his death. Judging from the stone tablet, the provincial cultural relics protection unit Shangzhongzong Tailing Site is located in Liucifan Village, Bo Town, Neihuang County, which is very close to the ancient tombs in An Village.

Experts hope to find the clues of the ancient "Bodu" through research when excavating ancient tombs in an village.

Soil layers of different dynasties appeared at the excavation site.

"Judging from the soil layers of the tombs, these tombs should have gone through many dynasties, and the orientations of the tombs are different, which is not in line with our current funeral customs." Zhang Dongyun, Party branch secretary of Shore Village, said.

Zhengzhou Evening News reporter saw that on the soil profile of nearly 20 meters at the excavation site, each layer has a different color, about 10 layer. Each floor is flat, but there is a low-lying land about 3 meters long, like the cross section of a road, and there is a low-lying land near 1 meter, like a low-lying road or canal. Archaeologists have marked it for further study.

An village belongs to the plain area, and currently it mainly grows crops such as wheat. In Nangaogu Village, west of An Village, 10 years ago, there were many large sand dunes several tens of meters high. Zhang Dongyun, the village party secretary on the shore, said that this is the old course of the Yellow River. In the past, villagers had dug up river transport facilities such as masts and boathouses in the village.

"During the Song and Jin Dynasties, the Yellow River passed through the present urban and rural areas, and then the river moved." Li Shuyu said that the stratum culture in different periods during the excavation of ancient tombs in an village is of great value to the changes of the Yellow River. At present, Anyang Institute of Archaeology is extracting the complete tombs as a whole, and then dissecting them one by one.
